today caely sang "you are my sunshine" in the car. this was her version of the song:

January 27th | snow day

On Thursday our area got snow dumped on it. So much snow that our house didn't have power for almost 24 hours. School was cancelled so we went out to play with our friends Rachel and Abby. We built a snowman, made snow angels, and the girls ate a ton of snow! It was pretty fun :)

January 26th | run run run

This is Caely's new favorite thing to do at home. Run. Around and around and around from the kitchen through the living room. She seriously ran for about an hour it seemed like, she's crazy :)

January 25th & 26th | Bouncy house fun

On Tuesday we discovered the bouncy place in the mall.

Caely had so much fun that we went again on Wednesday!

January 13th | zhu zhu pets and leotards

On Friday when Caely was in school I ran a few errands. While at Target I decided to pick up a zhu zhu pet for Caely. My friend Rachel's little girl got one for Christmas and it looked like so much fun :) Caely and I had a great time playing with the little hamster. It ran around the house and made weird little sounds haha. Alex was thoroughly freaked out by it which made it so much funnier.

I also picked up a leotard for Caely's gymnastics class that starts next month. It is the cheesiest leotard I have ever seen and I knew she would love it. For some reason, Caely only wanted to model it while laying on this pillow in her room. haha.



January 12th | snow bunny

Yesterday after Stroller Strides, Caely and I went shopping for an outfit for pictures in the snow. The weather was calling for snow and I was excited to take her out for some pretty shots. It didn't snow too much overnight but it was enough and I was still set on taking the pictures. After I picked her up from school today I changed her into her cute little dress and boots and we headed out. We tried three locations before deciding on the Glenview Mansion. It was super cold out but Caely was a trooper and I love these images of her :)

By the way, put her in her Belle pjs again today and {yay} she napped again!!

January 11th | my good luck charm

Yesterday Caely actually napped. Which was awesome. Naps are not a daily guarantee anymore around here, and that is tough on all of us. I've tried so many things and I don't know what the connection is, but anytime that I put her in these Belle pjs she naps. When she is dressed in something else for nap-time, she doesn't nap..so I am keeping my fingers crossed and putting her in these jammies every afternoon now. So far - it works!

So here she is in her crib after nap. She was so comfy she didn't want to get out! I am going to try my best this year to take more everyday, lifestyle shots of us around the house instead of only "portraits". I was also messing around with a new watermark for my pictures and didn't realize it was cutting right through her face when I saved it so sorry about that :)

I love her sweet little look here.

While she was in her crib she told me "I will never ever ever, I mean never kiss a frog! Yuck!" haha if you can't tell, her favorite movie right now is The Princess and the Frog.

Another funny from today: we were listening to Bon Jovi's Dead or Alive and Caely asked "is this song about pirates mommy?"

January 5th

I am starting the new year with this new blog. Instead of the project 365 (which I failed at last year!) I am going to try my best to use this blog to document our daily funnies with our Caely. She is starting to say some super funny stuff lately and I need to start to write it down before I forget it!!

So here she is on January 5th, modeling my new pettiskirt I ordered for sessions. Caely loves it, and I do too. It is awesome and so ruffly :) Caely loves all things dress up and princess-y right now, so this was right up her alley. Isn't she adorable??
